Pediatric Dentistry in Coral Springs and Parkland

At Carmona Smiles, we specialize in providing dental care for children in Coral Springs and surrounding areas. Children need special attention in their care as their mouths and teeth continue to grow. From preventive care to emergency care, our pediatric dentist is specially trained to work on children of all ages.

If your child has a dental emergency, please call us right away at (954) 513-4599.

Starting early helps your child get used to being at a pediatric dentist. We will help teach your child good oral hygiene and habits that will build a foundation for a lifetime of good oral health.

No matter your child's age, we recommend that they see a dentist every six months. Before we do any cleaning, our staff will go over your child’s dental history and any medical concerns. During the exam, we will evaluate any necessary treatment options including:

  • Sealants
  • Fluoride Applications
  • Fillings
  • Crowns
  • Whitening
  • Prevention
  • Extractions
  • Space Maintainers

Dental sealants are thin coatings applied directly to the teeth that provide a layer of protection against decay and cavities.

Fluoride Treatments

Fluoride helps the tooth enamel to stay strong and has been proven to reduce cavities. Fluoride treatments are recommended for children as their teeth are still growing and can be more susceptible to cavities.

Our team offers tooth-colored fillings that not only repair the tooth but also have a natural matching tooth color.

A damaged tooth can often be restored with a crown. A dentist will prepare the damaged tooth and ready it to host a crown. A crown acts as a partial replacement on top of a tooth and protects the tooth from further damage.

During your child’s exam, our team at Carmona Smiles will give your child a thorough cleaning to help remove stains. Our office offers professional teeth whitening using a peroxide gel to whiten teeth to their brightest. Professional whitening shows noticeable results in just one visit.

Good oral care begins at home, and brushing and flossing are great ways to prevent tooth decay. They also help to reduce bacteria in the mouth that could lead to gum infections and disease. During your child’s exam, we’ll teach them proper dental care techniques to help guarantee a long-lasting smile.

Preventing accidents is tough with children. To prevent potential injuries to your child’s teeth, we recommend that your child wear a helmet when biking or skating. We also recommend that your child use a mouth guard to help prevent oral injuries. If your child has chipped a tooth or has an injury, call us. We have emergency appointments available.

In many cases, we can save a tooth before it needs to be pulled; however, when a tooth is too damaged, it may need to be pulled. If your child is experiencing pain or has an emergency, call us right away.

Wisdom teeth can cause problems as they develop and crowd in the other teeth. When your child is ready to have a tooth extracted, we’ll make sure that they are comfortable.

Space Maintainers

Space maintainers fill small gaps between teeth and can hold a place open for a permanent tooth.

Whatever dental care your child needs, we strive to provide a nurturing and comforting environment.
